The workplace is changing… fast. Here’s how to get ready
Pick a job. Any job. Ask yourself, “Has that job changed over the last 10 years?” What about over the last five years? Whether the job is in business, health, communications, education or the arts it has likely evolved. Technology, the Internet, mobile communications and changes in global trade are transforming every job.
How can you prepare for success in a rapidly changing world?
For every job you need a grounding in language, literacy and numbers but beyond that you need to understand how to apply knowledge creatively. You need the ability to find information, work as a team and apply it in ways that are beyond what you can find in any textbook.
This is what we teach our students at Sheridan.
Helping our students Shine Brighter
Our number one goal is to help our students develop to their full potential. Here’s how:
- We update the content of our courses to reflect the changing workplace; where there is a need, we create new ones
- Over the last few years we have added 35 new diploma or degree programs
- We foster a creative community where students are encouraged to collaborate, to experiment and question
- Our faculty and instructors offer you practical knowledge; many have come from successful careers or continue to work full-time outside academia
- We offer internships, placements and co-ops where you can learn on-the-job
- Our Mobile Computing program allows for students to learn the way that they will need to work after graduation: collaboratively, using online resources
We will teach you how to apply knowledge creatively to help you shine brighter.
